a) New Product Feedback Survey
This week, Network Computing begins its new product feedback survey,
and
we want your input. Contributions will assist Network Computing in the
development of new products, which ultimately are designed to better
serve our readers. To thank you for participating, we will hold a
random
drawing from all eligible participants for three $100 Amazon Gift
Certificates. Only completed surveys will be entered into the drawing.
Your opinion matters!

b) The IT Logo Game
You've undoubtedly seen various logo games for breakfast cereal, where
you try to guess the company name armed only with a single letter or
icon from its logo. Well, who says cereal fans get to have all the fun?
We've created our own logo contest, targeting IT hardware vendors. Try
your hand at our letter matrix.

c) TechQuiz
There's still time to test your IT skills with our quiz on "Managing IT
at the Branch Office." If you can outsmart our editors, we'll throw
your
name into the hat for a free NWC mug and/or subscription to NewsGator's
Online Services.

d) Top 11
This week, we're looking for the "Top 11 signs your co-worker is on the
Google IPO friends list." Make us laugh, and we'll publish your
submission in print and online. Here are some ideas from your fellow
readers to get you started.
* There are more sounds coming out of your co-workers PCs than a
traffic
intersection. DING DING BEEP BEEP!!!! -- Gregory Mamayek
* Begins taking applications for posse membership... "wanted verbal
support specialist." -- Bill Desens

f) Security Channel Blog: From the Inside
We spend a lot of time preventing people outside our organization from
cracking into the system. Sometimes, though, we need to put more effort
into keeping people on the inside from being naughty. Over at
Linux.com,
Joe Bolin has written up some basics on preventing local intrusions.
The
article is a good reminder to look at both sides of the firewall when
you're putting together security plans.

g) Ask the Experts: Problem With WLSE Integration Alongside Bluesocket
We're having trouble integrating WLSE and Bluesocket. Recently, I have
tried to integrate all the access points to WLSE and have not been
successful, simply because the WLSE is on the public side and the
Bluesocket is on the private side. Moving WLSE to the private side is
not an option because then it won't detect any rogue APs on the
network.
As soon as I try to set up the SNMP on the WLSE with the public IP of
an
AP it loses connection. I was wondering if there were any tech guys out
there that could help me out.

d) EII: Dead on Arrival
The only problem with the 'EII for intelligence' approach is that it is
absolutely and utterly flawed.
