Thanks for the quick reply...two of these positions have needs for linux skills, specifically.  All three, however, are seeking candidates with strong opensource knowledge & backgrounds.  Here are a couple short descriptions; let me know if anyone is interested.  Thanks!

 

Position: Security Engineer  

 

Job Description: Responsible for protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the client’s information server system resources in compliance with all applicable laws, security best practices, and company policies. Individual will assist team leaders and systems administrators with securing all information system resources from accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure.

 

Technical skills essential for this assignment:  7 yrs. experience in an enterprise-networking environment, 4-5 yrs. implementation, troubleshooting and monitoring of client/server enterprise environment (Windows NT/2000/2003 server, Linux/Unix(Knoppix), Internet, Intranet, Extranet), Desktop: Windows NT/2000/XP, NAI/McAfee Anti-Virus, Internet Explorer, Outlook, C++, Visual Basic, HTML. Protocols/Transport: DHCP, WINS, DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, FTP, NetBEUI, Frame Relay. Network: NIC hardware, hubs, switches and router experience. Hardware: HP Proliant server hardware and HPRISC server hardware. Mgmt. Software: Veritas Netbackup, ISS RealSecure, HP Openview, NAI/McAfee EPO. Knowledge of network vulnerability tools such as NetStumbler, FPort, Ethereal and Nessus.

 

 

Position: QA Manager - Web

 

Job Description: This QA Analyst will be in a management role. Responsible for preparing for and running the testing process in the areas of task estimation, creation of test Plan, preparing test data, and executing test plan. After execution, QA Analyst will analyze system functionality and provide ongoing system testing and support.

 

Business Objective: **Client is looking for someone with serious experience in a lead/managerial capacity. Person will be responsible for ownership and coordination of the entire quality assurance/testing function across multiple projects. This includes resource allocation(including the possibility of managing offshore work), heavy involvement in the evaluation/selection/implementation of an opensource automated functional testing tool, and documenting evolving processes and procedures to name a few of the responsibilities.**

 

Technical Environment: Java environment and a lot of open source technologies(Bugzilla)

 

Technical skills essential for this assignment: 1) Must have recent experience testing web applications 2) High level of learning capacity-progressive and cutting edge 3)Knowledge of quality assurance/testing methodologies 4)familiar with manual and automated processes 5)familiarity with relational databases and data models 6)will add value to the group via previous experiences

 

 

Position: Senior Application Developer (Web) - Java

 

Job Description: Sr. Application Developer- Play an active role in the full life cycle of web and other application development. Work closely with business consultants, architects, and developers to design and develop solutions. Support and maintain existing web and other application solutions. Provide recommendations for enhancements to the HR Technology suite of applications. Author technical documentation. Hard core development work using JAVA/STRUTS.

 

Technical skills essential for this assignment:  1)7+ years with Java, J2EE, Unix, SQL, Oracle, DB2 or Informix 2) Strong STRUTS framework a must 3)Knowledge and experience with Object Oriented development principals and methodologies 4)Distributed concurrent software project experience (CORBA/EJB/RMI/XML-messaging) 5)Experience with middleware development and enterprise level application integration Pluses: Unix (shell scripting), Linux, Informix, XML

 

Non-technical skills essential for this assignment: Ability to apply innovative approaches to solving design and technical issues. Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent ability to conceptualize, visualize, and prototype solutions. Success in team based environments. Degree or equivalent required.

Specific issues regarding working environment: This is a group that has set high expectations for internal and contract employees. They expect their team members to bring value to the organization by their technical expertise and their interest in exploring cutting edge technologies. They also expect team members to "wear multiple hats".
